New Storywalk Installment

Parks & Recreation has teamed up with the Georgetown Public Library to combine two of our favorite things: stories and outdoor exploration! Check out our latest program, Tales on the Trails.

What is Tales on the Trails?
Tales on the Trails is a fun way to enjoy reading and the outdoors. It is our take on the Story Walk you may have seen in other communities. Pages of our featured children’s book will be posted along the walkway so that readers can experience the importance of reading, spending time with friends, and connecting with nature in a fun way. The Story Walk Project was created in 2007 by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg Hubbard Library.

March 2024:  The featured book is The Hidden Rainbow by Christie Matheson. The Hidden Rainbow brings a garden to life in this bright, interactive picture book about the natural world—and our place within it.

The story can be found along the Randy Morrow Trail. Start in San Gabriel Park and head toward Rivery Park, and you can’t miss the signs on your right!
