Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Georgetown Public Library is a nonprofit organization that supports the library year-round through fundraising events, membership drives and sales at the Second-Hand Prose bookstore. Funds provided to the library by the Friends are used for materials and programs that are not covered through our City budget.

One of the Friends’ greatest achievements has been the fundraising efforts and purchase of the library’s Words on Wheels (WOW!) bookmobile. The bookmobile provides materials, programs and cheerful service to members of the community who may not otherwise be able to use the library.

The Friends’ fundraising events include the popular Hill Country Authors Series, Fish City Grill fundraiser and Annual Book Lover’s Calendar Sale. We are so grateful to have such great Friends!
