The Hispanic Digital Library is a resource from the National Library of Spain. This catalog provides free access to thousands of digitized documents that cover the sciences, philosophy, fine art, and much more. Spanish is the default language for this website, but users can select from many translations, including English.

Hemeroteca DigitalThe Digital Newspaper Library is part of the Hispanic Digital Library project. It provides access to historical Spanish newspapers and magazines that are in the National Library of Spain. It currently has over 1,000 titles. This site also provides an English translation if needed.

DialnetDialnet is the largest online archive of Hispanic scientific papers. It currently has over 8,000 magazines and 3,700,000 documents. Users have the option to search or browse publications. Users can also select multiple languages, including English, for translations.

Google AcademicoGoogle Scholar, Google’s academic search tool, is now available in Spanish through Google Academico. It has the same look and feel as Google Scholar, but with the Spanish-language content. Results are best when you use Spanish-language search terms.

Parallel Histories: Spain, the United States, and the American FrontierThis online resource is a work from the Library of Congress in collaboration with the National Library of Spain, the Library of Colombia, and the capital of Seville. It presents digital books, maps, photographs and other documents that give information on the history of the United States’ relationship with Spain with a focus on exploration, settlement, colonization, cultures, American revolution, and mutual perceptions.

- Mi mundo en palabras is one of my favorite websites for kids learning Spanish. My post about Mi mundo en palabras lists the topics in each lesson and gives helpful information for parents who do not speak the language.
- PBSKids creates great games in Spanish. Oh Noah is a fun series of videos and games for children who are starting to learn the language.
- Aprendizaje de la lectoescritura is excellent for beginning readers because many activities combine text with audio. There are four levels with a variety of activities at each level. Click comenzar and then choose the nivel (level). Choose a letter and you will get screenshots of activities. Mouse over the screenshots to enlarge and hear what the activity is. The activities in levels 2, 3 and 4 involve combining syllables to make words, matching words to images, and ordering words in phrases.
- Rockalingua has fun songs, lyric sheets, games and worksheets. These correspond to thematic units used in elementary Spanish programs.
- Ciudad17 has games to practice basic concepts like shapes, colors and numbers. Quite a few of the games have audio.
- TuDiscoveryKids has tons of videos and games with favorite characters like Pocoyo, Peppa and Cailou. It is one of the websites for kids that is designed for native speakers but has activities that work with Spanish language learners.
- The government of Chile has games and stories and music clips for their the series Bartolo. These work well for vocabulary and listening practice.
- OnlineFreeSpanish has lots of games to practice a wide range of vocabulary. They also have mini books and printables.
