Book Club in a Bag

Book Club in a Bag is a program that allows a book club to check out a bag of books for the entire club. Each bag contains 10  copies of the book, as well an an author biography, book reviews, and discussion questions. A bag can be checked out for six weeks, up to one year in advance. The Book Club in a Bag program is generously supported by the Friends of the Georgetown Public Library and by a grant from the Texas Book Festival.

You can reserve bags directly through the library’s catalog!

How to reserve a bag:

  1. Go to the library catalog page & click the “Library of Things” link at the bottom of the page.
  1. Log in to the catalog using your library barcode (on the back of your card) and your phone number beginning with the area code. No spaces or dashes are needed.
  2. Find a title you like and click “Reserve this item”
  3. Select your Target Pickup Date and click “Place Reserve”! You’ll be notified once the bag is ready to pick up.

Checkout periods will remain the same – your due date for Book Club in a Bag will be 6 weeks from your selected pickup date.

You can view or cancel your Book Club in a Bag reservations at any time by logging into your library account and clicking on “Reserves/Requests”.
