Here are some songs and/or rhymes we might do in storytime:

Get Ready Song: If You’re Ready for a Story, Clap Your Hands (tune: If You’re Happy and You Know It)
If you’re ready for a story, clap your hands
If you’re ready for a story, clap your hands
If you’re ready for a story, if you’re ready for a story,
If you’re ready for a story, clap your hands

Hello song: Clap Everybody and Say Hello
Clap everybody and say “hello”
Clap everybody and say “hello”
Clap everybody and say “hello”
No matter what the weather!

Verses: For May we are learning how to say hello in Polish which is “Cześć! (Chesh-ch)”! Then we repeat again with the signs for clap, hello, and weather.

Song: If You’re a Dog and You Know it (tune: If You’re Happy and You Know it)
If you’re a dog and you know it, give a bark,
If you’re a dog and you know it, give a bark,
If you’re a dog and you know it, and you really want to show it,
If you’re a dog and you know it, give a bark!

Verses:
If you’re a dog and you know it, wag your tail…
If you’re a dog and you know it, dig a hole…
If you’re a dog and you know it, sit please!

Song: Where Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone?
Where, oh where has my little dog gone?
Oh where, oh where can he be?
With his ears cut short and his tail cut long,
Oh where, oh where can he be?

Song: Bingo
There was a farmer who had a dog,
And Bingo was his name-o.
B-I-N-G-O! B-I-N-G-O! B-I-N-G-O!
And Bingo was his name-o. (continue on until all claps)

Fingerplay/Action Rhyme: Five Little Puppies
Five little puppies were playing in the sun. (hold up hand, fingers out)
This one saw a rabbit, and he began to run. (bend down finger, do action)
This one saw a butterfly, and he began to race.
This one saw a kitty cat, and he began to chase.
This one tried to catch his tail, and he went round & round.
This one was so quiet, he never made a sound.

Shake My Sillies Out by Raffi
I’m gonna shake, shake, shake my sillies out,
Shake, shake, shake my sillies out,
Shake, shake, shake my sillies out,
And wiggle my waggles away!

Verses: Clap my crazies… Jump my jiggles… Yawn my sleepies… finish with a fast shake your sillies!

Goodbye Song: We Wave Goodbye Like This
We wave goodbye like this,
We wave goodbye like this,
To all our friends at storytime,
We wave goodbye like this!

See you there!
