As a retired therapist and facilitator at Austin Recovery Center, Austin Family House and Optimum Health Center Linda Dielman utilizes both painting and collage to help improve the physical, mental and emotional well being of those in a treatment setting as a part of their road to recovery. Art can be a valuable tool in providing hope, order, direction and expression for a participants recovery. It can address emotional issues which are oftentimes difficult to express into words.

Dielman says “I just started painting on canvas a few months ago. It has been very therapeutic for me and I’m hoping my paintings can inspire others to use art as an aid to healing.”
