Exhibit: May 12-July 26, 2024
People’s Choice Award Voting: May 12- June 9
Reception: Sunday, June 16, 1-3 p.m.
Sculpture Demonstrations: Saturday, July 20, 1-3 p.m.
Location: First and Second Floors

The Texas Society of Sculptors is holding their 16th annual summer sculpture show in the Georgetown Public Library May 12-July 26. The exhibit is open to artists from across the state.

Cash awards, including the “People’s Choice Award,” will be funded by the City of Georgetown Arts and Culture Board. Visitors to the exhibit can pick up a ballot and vote for their favorite pieces May 12-June9. Award winners will be announced Sunday, June 16, at 1 pm, at an Artists’ Reception on the second floor of the library.

Additionally, on Saturday, July 20, from 1-3, sculptors with work in the show will demonstrate various techniques in a come-and-go Sculpture Demonstration in the library lobby.

Most of the pieces in the exhibit will be available for purchase.

The winners for 2024 are:

  • First Place – “Home Grown” by Jim Woodruff
  • Second Place – “Iron Dragonfly” by Rodney Butler
  • Third Place – “Pathway” by Ashley Thompson
  • Honorable Mention: Metal – “Flamedrop” by Laura Armstrong
  • Honorable Mention: Ceramics – “Lickety Kiss” by Kaki Bassi
  • Honorable Mention: Stone or Wood – “Endure” by J.J. Priour
  • Honorable Mention: Mixed media– “Dream Holiday Wish” by Dar Richardson
  • People’s Choice: “Prickly Pear Sanctuary” by Ronnie Wells
  • Librarian’s Choice: “Armadillo” by Ken Law
