People’s Choice Award Voting: June 18-July 9
Reception: Sunday, July 16, 1-3 p.m.
Sculpture Demonstrations: Saturday, September 9, 1-3 p.m.
Location: First and Second Floors

The Texas Society of Sculptors is holding their 15th annual summer sculpture show in the Georgetown Public Library June 18-Sept. 15. The exhibit is open to artists from across the state.

Cash awards, including the “People’s Choice Award,” will be funded by the City of Georgetown Arts and Culture Board. Visitors to the exhibit can pick up a ballot and vote for their favorite pieces June 18-July 9. Award winners will be announced Sunday, July 16, at 1 pm, at an Artists’ Reception on the second floor of the library.

Additionally, on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 1-3, sculptors with work in the show will demonstrate various techniques in a come-and-go Sculpture Demonstration in the library lobby.

Most of the pieces in the exhibit will be available for purchase.

This years exhibit award recipients are:

First Place – “Final Fetch” by J.P. (Pat) Childress
Second Place – “PELECAAN” by Ken Law
Third Place – “Fallen Heart” by John Pezze
Honorable Mention: Metal – “Being for Self” by Lyle Adair
Honorable Mention: Stone or Wood – “The Working Men” by Jim Woodruff
Honorable Mention: Mixed media– “Gatekeeper” by Patrick Fleming
Librarians’ Choice – “Adrian’s Compadre” by John Pezze
Peoples’ Choice – “The Messenger” by Matt Donner
