The Library's Holiday Decor

by on December 1, 2009

The library will be decorated outside as well as inside for the holidays. For outside, graphic designer Nick Ramos created five new banner images that appeal to the kid in all of us. He has Santa, Rudolph, the Drummer Boy, Mother Mouse, and a Snowman, each reading an appropriate book. For example, Rudolph is relaxing with a hot drink and reading “How to Lead the Way,” and Snowman is reading “How to Stay Cool.” Look for the banners in the library parking lot and on 8th and 9th Streets in front of the library.

Some brave volunteers from the Friends of the Library agreed to take on the task of decorating the inside of the library–with our huge supply of decorations that have accumulated over the years. (Their enthusiasm must be an example of someone else’s attic being more interesting than your own.) It took one day to unpack all the boxes, another day to assess and organize, and still another to put things in place, but it looks good. Now we’re waiting for the gingerbread contest entries to arrive. Be sure to drop by after December 7 to see those and vote for your favorites.
