Judy Fabry March 30th, 2011 at 7:29 am []

The library will have an Easter egg hunt during storytime the week before Easter. Please see the children’s event calendar for April when it is published.

The Parks & Recreation department also organizes an egg hunt in the park. More information can be found here: http://specialevents.georgetown.org/

I am interested in volunteering to read stories to children during scheduled storytimes. Is that possible or do you have only library employees do this? I am retired and used to enjoy doing this many years ago when I took our children to storytime at the library in Harrisburg, Pa.

We receive many requests such as yours about storytimes, but Ms. Rosa, our children’s services coordinator, prefers to keep storytimes staff-provided. Our adult volunteer opportunities are primarily checking in and shelving materials, or working in technical services, processing materials for circulation. If you’re interested in either of those jobs, contact Kathleen Bowling at 930-3624 to discuss what you might do for us.

Would it be possible to get a printable version of the entire month kids calendar that you have available at the desk there at the library?

Judy Fabry May 11th, 2011 at 10:58 am []

At the present time we are unable to upload that image to our webpage to make it available for individuals to print. If you come into the library and don’t find a print copy available, please don’t hesitate to ask for one. We’ll be happy to print it for you.

I would prefer to see the children’s calendar in “month at a glance” format. It would be much easier to plan ahead.

Judy Fabry May 19th, 2011 at 10:05 am []

The webmaster switched the calendar to the monthly view today. It had been on the weekly view because there was a glitch in the monthly view that slid all of our events a couple of days. It appears to be working correctly now, but please let us know if you notice errors in the schedule. You might want to pick up a paper calendar of the children’s summer events when you’re in the library the next time.

Are there any Halloween events planned for the children during the day. The online calendar doesn’t reflect anything other than in the evening at 6:30. Just wanted to see if anything will be incorporated during story time on Friday, October 28 or earlier during the week. Thanks so much!

Judy Fabry October 17th, 2011 at 11:29 am []

There will be a children’s Halloween party during the regular storytime at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26. Wear costumes and bring snacks to share.
