Library Board

The seven-member Library Advisory Board, appointed by the Mayor and City Council, makes recommendations regarding development of the book collection, programming, and other services provided by the library. The board meets at the library the second Monday of each month, at 6:30 pm. Information about serving on this board and meeting agendas and minutes are available at http://www.georgetown.org/boards. Library Foundation

The Georgetown Library Foundation was founded in 1998 to promote the library and to acquire funds for selected library programs and projects that are beyond the City’s annual budget. For information about serving on the Foundation board, contact Eric Lashley at 512/930-3551. Friends of the Library

The mission of the Friends of the Georgetown Library is:
To promote public use and community support of the Georgetown Public Library, to foster appreciation of its value as a cultural and educational asset to the community, to encourage the extension and improvement of its services, and to work in cooperation with the Advisory and Foundation Boards.

To accomplish this mission the Friends are committed to operating a used bookstore, Second-Hand Prose; organizing and underwriting book talks, author visits, and children’s programs; and by supporting the library monetarily.

If you are interested in joining the Friends, applications are available at the circulation desk in the library. Annual dues are:

$10 Individual

$100 Angel
$500 Life
