When you’re going to be away from home, defer your reserves so that you don’t miss that book you’ve waited months for! It’s easy to do yourself, or ask anyone at the circulation desk to do it for you.

On the library’s webpage, click on CATALOG, then log in to your account (your barcode number and your 7-digit phone number), then click on  MY ACCOUNT. On the screen that opens, scroll down about half-way to where you see “Going Out of Town?” Click on DEFER.

On the calendar that appears, click on EVERY day that you will not be available. As you click the dates they’ll turn pink. You may move to the next month by clicking the “Next” button at the top of the calendar. Continue clicking on dates until you reach the date when you’ll again be available, then click the FINISH button.

It’s easy and everybody wins–you, the library staff, and the persons behind you in the queue.
